"When it comes to sourcing advisory - one size definitely does NOT fit all.”

Nick Andrews
Director
EightyTwenty Insight

The EightyTwenty Insight methodology is designed to navigate you smoothly through the sourcing lifecycle. It encapsulates the public and private sector sourcing experience of the founding partners and other EightyTwenty Insight personnel. It integrates the three critical aspects of a successful sourcing initiative, which are:

  • identifying the correct sourcing strategy;
  • understanding how the new operation will interface with the rest of your organisation and ensuring the processes are compatible; and
  • the transition and change management aspects of making the change.

All three of these aspects must be expertly managed if the initiative is to deliver the potential benefits and value.

Few elements of the methodology require a unique skill set in isolation. The power is the understanding of exactly what needs to be done, the order in which to do it and the dependencies. Assembling the right group of appropriately skilled and experienced people to do this is the key to executing sourcing initiatives that deliver real business value.

The key features of our methodology are:

1. Adaptable and Tailored to your individual needs: we use the methodology as an enabler to ensure that each piece of work we do is comprehensive - that it has quality and integrity and that it benefits from the collective experience of all our people. It is not a 'tick-box' approach where one size fits all.

2. Easy to use: as it is broken down into a series of steps with templates and proformas for each.

3. Left with you: we train your key staff on how to utilise the methodology and get the most out of it. This enables you to utilise skills of your internal staff, requiring only a lean consultancy team, and as it is left with you, you are able to use the framework in future projects.
